Morgan H., Piano
Morgan Hansen is currently attending the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Music. She has been teaching students of different levels and ages since 2013. She teaches private piano lessons, accompanies, and performs. Morgan holds a strong connection for music and teaching. She strives to be innovative and creative in helping students achieve their specific musical goals. Morgan emphasizes game-based learning. Through games and activities, students are able to learn music theory, technique, ear training, and composition. Students have the opportunity to play a variety of repertoire. Morgan also hosts recitals in which students can perform what they have learned and play with confidence. She strives for her students to grow a passion for music and develop them into self-sufficient musicians.
Vanessa V., Piano
Vanessa Vander Galien has been teaching private piano lessons since 2012. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s degree in Music. Vanessa has also completed training in the Music Unlocked piano curriculum, which she teaches to all ages and levels. Vanessa is constantly looking for fun, creative, hands-on ways for students to learn, improvise and even compose music. She tailors each student’s lesson plans to reach the individual goals of the student. Vanessa offers performance opportunities to her students through collaborative recitals with other local teachers, and encourages her students to participate in music events and competitions in the community. Vanessa’s vision in teaching is to give each student the tools they need to become independent, confident, knowledgeable musicians with a passion for music.
Erika G., Piano
Erika Gray has been playing piano since she was 11-years-old. She fell in love with the instrument, and decided to make it her career choice. She graduated with a degree in Music Performance, with an emphasis in classical piano from Monmouth College. She studied piano under the influence of Professor Moschenross, and played with several groups such as Monmouth Winds, First United Methodist and Monmouth College Pipe Band. Erika, who works with students on many talent levels, encourages them to have fun with their instruments. She believes music theory and aural training are important, and she incorporates this in every lesson. Erika wants her students to have fun in each lesson, and to be able to bring that home and strive to become strong, confident and excited musicians.
