I've had an incredible journey in the world of music as a professional guitarist, teacher, touring musician, and recording artist since 1985. Throughout my career, I've strived to provide a unique and well-rounded experience for my students.

The recognition I've received over the years has been truly humbling. I've had the honor of being nominated for guitarist of the year by the WAMI awards four times, and I'm proud to say that I've won three of those nominations. Additionally, my band Johnny Wad holds a remarkable record, having been awarded more WAMI awards than any other band in Wisconsin history.

My musical ventures extend beyond Johnny Wad. I also perform with other esteemed groups like Bazooka Joe, Red Clover, and Project Pink—a premier Pink Floyd tribute act in North America. These experiences have enriched my understanding of different styles and techniques on the guitar.

One of the areas where my expertise shines is in tone and recording techniques. This knowledge qualifies me to teach a wide range of styles, including rock, country, metal, and extensive improvising.

I'm passionate about sharing my musical knowledge and helping aspiring guitarists develop their skills and unique style. Whether you're a beginner seeking to strum your first chords or an experienced player looking to refine your techniques, I'm here to guide and support you on your musical journey.

Acoustic & Electric Guitar

Offering In-Person Instruction

I've been teaching professionally since 2002, and it has been a rewarding journey working with students of all ages and skill levels. From young beginners as young as six years old to individuals in their fifties, each student brings their unique musical journey to our lessons.

Teaching various musical genres, including pop, country pop, rock blues, and some jazz, has allowed me to cater to a diverse range of musical interests. I particularly enjoy working with young students who are still exploring and defining their musical tastes and influences. It's an exciting time, and I love nurturing their passion for music.

Patience is a key aspect of my teaching approach. I believe in taking the time to understand each student's goals and learning pace. It's truly rewarding to witness young talents motivated to learn and grow.

My lessons emphasize the importance of good technique and dedication to the instrument to achieve our musical goals, which could include playing in a band. Drawing from my own experience of playing in bands over the years, I provide insights and guidance on what it takes to excel in a musical group.

Currently, I'm pursuing my passion for music as a solo artist. Throughout my musical journey, I've been fortunate to have the guidance of my musical mentor, Todd Buffa—a professional jazz vocalist, one-time Grammy nominee, and Green Bay native. His influence has been invaluable in shaping my musical career.

If you're eager to explore the world of music, develop your talents, and achieve your musical dreams, I'm here to guide and support you on this exciting musical adventure.

Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Bass & Ukulele

Offering In-Person Instruction

I started playing guitar back in 1983, and by 1989, I was already teaching others. At that time, I was studying Jazz Performance at UWGB, but in 1994, I moved to College Station, Texas. Throughout my stay in Texas, I continued to teach full-time and performed with various bands, exploring genres like jazz, rock, blues, and country. I even had the opportunity to be part of musical productions.

From 2008 to 2009, I had the incredible experience of being a member of the Granger Smith band. However, my heart brought me back to Wisconsin in 2011, where I continued my musical journey.

Over the years, I've honed my skills and developed a specialization in various styles, including jazz, metal, rock, blues, country, and folk. Additionally, I have a strong foundation in sight reading and music theory, which enriches my teaching approach.

I'm thrilled to share my passion for music with others and help them unlock their potential as guitarists. Whether you're interested in exploring different styles, diving into theory, or mastering sight reading, I'm here to support and guide you on your musical path.
