Josh K.

String Bass

Offering in-person instruction

Josh is a music graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and has over ten years of experience in the Fox Valley teaching private and group lessons, as well as directing bands and ensembles. He focuses his lessons on building a solid foundation of the basics and proper technique to help students become successful with music and enjoy their instrument. His unique style of teaching incorporates music theory and improvisation in a way that's fresh, accessible, and fun for students of all skill levels. Josh aims to turn students into lifelong musicians and lovers of music. Steve S.

Violin & Viola

Offering in-person instruction

Hi there, I'm Dr. Steven Schani! I've had a fantastic musical journey, and I'm excited to share it with you. I received my Bachelor of Music degree from UW Oshkosh, followed by my Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music, and finally, my Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the University of Kansas City Conservatory of Music.

My primary instruments are the Viola and Violin, and I love teaching all styles of string music. While I'm well-versed in classical music, my major emphasis lies in alternative genres like Celtic, Fiddle, Jazz, and Rock. I find joy in exploring these diverse styles with my students and helping them discover the unique expressions they offer.

Over the years, I've recorded numerous CDs and published arrangements and original compositions for violin and viola in both classical and alternative styles. I'm thrilled to contribute to the musical landscape with my creative works.

As a performer, I'm actively involved in various symphonies, including the Green Bay Symphony, Green Bay Civic Symphony, LaCrosse Symphony, Fox Valley Symphony, Manitowoc Symphony, and Waupaca Symphony. I also have the privilege of performing as a soloist with the Vic Ferrari Symphony on the Rocks concerts and engaging in solo performances across Wisconsin.

For those interested in staying updated with my musical endeavors, you can find me on Facebook under various music-related pages like "Green Bay String Cheeseheads," "Oshkosh Viola Posse," "Fond du Lac String Revolution," and "Nuttin' But Treble." I also have a collection of music and videos on YouTube for you to enjoy.
