EarthQuaker Devices ZEQD-Pre All-Analog Tube Preamp

Developed in collaboration between EarthQuaker Devices and Dr. Z Amplification, the ZEQD-Pre is a fully analog tube preamp designed to bring authentic amp feel, dynamic response, and professional routing flexibility directly to your pedalboard. Centered around the expressive EF86 pentode tube design found in select Dr. Z amplifiers, the ZEQD-Pre delivers rich harmonic character, exceptional touch sensitivity, and full-frequency clarity.

More than a traditional preamp, the ZEQD-Pre functions as a complete analog amplifier solution. Use the balanced XLR output for direct recording or front-of-house applications, practice silently through the dedicated headphone output with onboard analog cabinet simulation, or integrate it into hybrid stage and studio rigs with simultaneous outputs and flexible routing.

A passive three-band EQ provides musical and responsive tone shaping while the dedicated Boost mode bypasses the tone stack for powerful full-range output when additional gain and presence are needed.
