The BOSS RT-2 Rotary Ensemble brings the rich, expressive sound and movement of a rotary speaker cabinet into a compact pedalboard-friendly design. Built with BOSS rotary speaker technology, the RT-2 recreates the complex spatial character of classic rotary effects while adding three sound modes, detailed tonal controls, flexible pedal switching, and advanced external control options for modern performance setups.

Authentic Rotary Speaker Sound

The RT-2 captures the distinctive movement of a rotary speaker, including independently modeled treble and bass rotor speeds. A virtual rotor display uses lights to indicate rotor speed, while fast and slow speed controls let players create the dramatic pitch and spatial movement associated with rotary speaker cabinets.

Three Modes and Detailed Tone Shaping

Three sound modes provide a vintage rotary sound along with two modified tones featuring enhanced spatial effects. The DRIVE knob can add vintage tube-style saturation, while the Rise/Fall Time switch adjusts how quickly the effect transitions between rotor speeds. A Drive/Balance switch can also assign the knob to control saturation or the volume balance between the treble and bass rotors.

Flexible Performance and Stereo Operation

Four selectable pedal switch modes provide different ways to bypass the effect and control rotor speed while performing. The RT-2 also supports external footswitches and expression pedals for advanced control over speed, brake, and other functions. Mono/stereo inputs and outputs provide flexible connectivity, with selectable stereo output modes for standard stereo operation or separate wet and dry outputs.
