Description
The Alvarez Yairi Masterworks DYM66HD is a hand-crafted dreadnought acoustic guitar built for players who appreciate exceptional materials, traditional craftsmanship, and highly responsive acoustic performance. Made at the renowned K. Yairi factory in Kani, Japan, the DYM66HD features an all-Honduran mahogany body paired with carefully executed hand-carved bracing and premium appointments. The result is a powerful, open, and richly expressive instrument with a robust low end and excellent tonal balance.
All-Honduran Mahogany Tonewoods
The DYM66HD features Honduran mahogany for the top, back, and sides, producing a warm, focused voice with strong midrange character and a clear, robust bass response. The dreadnought body provides substantial volume and projection, while the all-mahogany construction offers an exceptionally cohesive tonal character that responds beautifully to both strumming and more detailed playing.
Hand-Carved FST6 Bracing
At the heart of the DYM66HD is Alvarez Yairi’s hand-carved FST6 bracing system. The forward-shifted, asymmetric tone bars use lighter bracing to carefully balance structural strength with top vibration. This updated design is intended to provide increased richness, openness, and responsiveness while allowing the guitar to react naturally to the player’s dynamics.
Master-Built Craftsmanship
Every Alvarez Yairi guitar reflects generations of Japanese lutherie expertise. At the K. Yairi factory, necks are shaped by hand, braces are carved individually, and tops are carefully voiced for optimal response. The DYM66HD continues that tradition with an extended dovetail neck joint, ebony bridge and fingerboard, real bone nut and saddle, Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons, and elegant ivoroid binding. A deluxe wood case is included for U.S. models.
