Street Music Week 2025: Celebrating Community and Creativity in the Fox Cities

Every June, the heart of downtown Appleton comes alive with the sound of music—and purpose. Street Music Week is more than just a celebration of local talent; it’s a movement that unites our community through the universal language of music. And at Heid Music, we’re proud to be at the center of it all.

A Musical Tradition with a Mission

Street Music Week began in Spokane, Washington in 2002 as a way to raise funds for a local food bank. Since then, it has grown into a national initiative, with cities across the country joining in during the second week of June to support their own communities.

In 2012, Appleton became the first official sister city to Spokane for this event—thanks to the passion and leadership of a Heid Music team member. Since then, Street Music Week has become a beloved tradition in the Fox Cities.

What to Expect: Music on the Avenue

From June 9–14, 2025, local musicians—ranging from students and hobbyists to seasoned professionals—will perform along College Avenue from 12:00–1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. These performers donate their time and talent to raise funds and awareness for Appleton Community Music, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the artists who make events like Mile of Music possible.

No registration is required—just show up with your instrument, grab a bucket, and make some music!
