Description

The Walrus Audio Canvas Volume Pedal solves every frustration traditional volume pedals create—scratchy pots, worn strings, mid-set failures, and inconsistent response—with precision position sensing and high-quality VCAs (Voltage Controlled Amplifiers). This isn't a volume pedal with digital conveniences tacked on; it's a ground-up redesign delivering premium all-analog signal path with unprecedented control, reliability, and flexibility. Contactless sensing means nothing wears out or gets scratchy. Eight customizable tapers (including models from Lehle, Boss, Dunlop, Ernie Ball, Hotone, Hilton, and Goodrich) let Wisconsin guitarists and pedal steel players dial in the exact feel they need. Adjustable minimum-on volume, gain up to +9dB, and lag control (up to 2 seconds) provide expressive tools impossible with mechanical designs. Rugged steel and aluminum chassis balances durability with pedalboard-friendly weight.

Modern Engineering, Classic Feel

Precision position sensor tracks pedal movement and translates it into smooth, musical volume changes via analog VCAs—delivering the tone players expect from classic volume pedals with modern consistency. Fully analog signal path maintains pristine tone quality. The result: vintage feel without vintage failures.

Flexible Signal Routing

  • Mono in / Mono out with dedicated tuner out
  • Stereo in / Stereo out
  • Mono in / Dual mono out

Whether you're running simple mono setups, stereo boards, or need dual outputs from single input, Canvas Volume adapts to your workflow.

Deep Customization Under the Heel

Control interface tucked discreetly under the heel keeps settings safe while remaining accessible. Two buttons and LED indicators control four powerful parameters:

Taper (8 Options): Defines how volume changes across the pedal's sweep. Includes custom Canvas taper plus seven carefully modeled tapers from classic volume pedals—from smooth guitar-focused curves to linear pedal steel responses.

Minimum On: Sets signal level at heel-down position. From extreme attenuation (-90dB) to partial signal for swells that never fully disappear.

Gain: Controls maximum output at toe-down. Unity gain (0dB) default, with up to +9dB available—making Canvas equally capable as clean volume boost.

Lag: Introduces delay between pedal movement and volume response (up to 2 seconds), smoothing transitions and enhancing swells.

Utility Menu & Advanced Functions

Built-in menu provides factory reset, calibration, mono mode selection (tuner out vs. dual mono), and firmware update capability.
