DI and LI in One Package

Direct Injection Mode (DI): Connects unbalanced, high-impedance sources (electric guitar, bass) with -20dB reduction (-35dB with pad engaged), converting to balanced XLR via transformer. Mixer/preamp gain brings signal to line level.

Line Isolator Mode (LI): Interfaces unbalanced, low-impedance sources (amp/cab sims, keyboards, DSP rigs) at full volume, converting to balanced XLR via transformer with minimal preamp gain required.

General guide: High impedance (above 1kΩ) = use DI. Low impedance (below 1kΩ) = use LI. When in doubt, test both—this passive device won't damage equipment if connected incorrectly.

Smart Features for Real-World Use

Sum XLR: Combines left and right XLR outputs into mono balanced signal on left XLR when mixer has only one available input. Right XLR disables automatically.

Sum Thru: Combines left and right thru jacks for running into single amplifier (use either thru jack).

XLR Phase Flip: Flips right XLR phase relative to left, fixing out-of-phase issues in stereo setups—critical for keyboard players and stereo rig users.

-15dB Pad: Reduces hot signals in DI mode to minimize distortion (DI mode only).

Ground Lift: Isolates ground pin on XLR to reduce hum when present. Leave out for normal operation.
