Ever dreamed of being in a rock band, performing on stage, or writing your own music? Rock U Music Camp—hosted by Heid Music in Appleton, Wisconsin—is the best summer band camp for teens who want to grow as musicians, connect with peers, and play music that rocks.
Rock U is a summer music camp for ages 11–18 designed for young musicians with at least one year of experience on their instrument (guitar, drums, bass, piano/keys, vocals, or even non-traditional rock instruments like violin, saxophone, or trumpet). This teen rock band camp brings together professional musicians, music educators, Mile of Music artists, and Heid Music staff to help campers build performance skills, stage presence, and creative confidence.
What You'll Learn:
Rock band rehearsals and breakout instrument sessions
Songwriting and music theory workshops
Marketing your band: logo design, photoshoots, and more
Live band performance skills
Rock history, social connection, and collaboration
Each camper will be placed in a real working band through an audition process (in-person or video), allowing us to match students based on skill level and style. Whether you're into classic rock, indie, punk, blues, or alternative, you'll walk away with new friends and the confidence to take the stage.
Parents love Rock U for its affordable summer music education, safe, structured programming, and its focus on creativity, leadership, and teamwork. Campers love it for the jamming, the energy, and the chance to rock out with a real band.
