I'm Dr. Ron Cole, an accomplished trumpeter with a deep passion for music. I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance from the University of Washington, as well as a Master of Music (Performance) and a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Studies) from Western Washington University.
My musical journey has been diverse and rewarding, with performances in a wide range of contexts. From sharing the stage with great artists like Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Amy Grant, and Michael W. Smith, to playing with esteemed orchestras like the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, Cascade Symphony Orchestra, and the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra, I've had the privilege of making music in many settings. Additionally, I've been part of various studio sessions, contributing to iconic shows like Hawaii 5-0 and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Alongside my performing career, I'm a dedicated educator. I've served on the faculties of Olympic College, Music Works Northwest, and Northwest University, guiding and inspiring aspiring musicians to reach their full potential.
Another aspect of my musical journey involves composing. My compositions have found their way into the repertoires of various jazz ensembles, as well as being featured in the video game Infinite Scuba.

Offering in-person instruction

I'm Rob, a dedicated music educator with over 20 years of experience teaching instrumental music in both public and parochial schools. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Instrumental Music Education from UW–La Crosse, along with additional licensure in Choral and General Music from UW–Oshkosh.
My primary instrument is the euphonium, but I also teach trumpet, trombone, tuba, French horn, percussion, saxophone, clarinet, and flute. I work with students from 4th grade through adulthood, guiding brass players from beginner to advanced levels, and helping woodwind and percussion students build a strong foundation through intermediate levels.
Throughout my career, I’ve been actively involved in the Wisconsin music community. I perform with the North East Wisconsin Concert Band and serve on the State Board of the Wisconsin Concert Band Association, where I also chair the Intercollegiate Honors Band. As a WSMA Master Level Adjudicator, I’m passionate about supporting student growth through performance and evaluation.
I specialize in styles associated with concert band and solo/ensemble literature, and I’m committed to helping each student discover their unique musical voice while building strong technical and expressive skills.
