Description
Pearl's Concert Series Steel Snare delivers the focused articulation and cutting projection that wind ensemble and orchestral percussionists demand—from All-State auditions to professional concert stages. The beaded steel shell, crafted with precise 45-degree bearing edges and traditional snare beds, produces the crisp, controlled response essential for everything from Baroque transcriptions to contemporary wind band literature.
The SR-400 Silent Strainer features Pearl's angle-mounted design with combination coated and wound cable snares—providing the sensitivity for delicate chamber work and the robust snap required for Holst and Grainger. Remo Renaissance Diplomat batter heads offer immediate response across all dynamic ranges, while Pearl's acclaimed 2.3mm SuperHoop II triple-flange rims ensure consistent tuning stability through long rehearsals and performances.
Classic tube lugs with stainless steel T-rods deliver precise, even tensioning across all eight lugs. The highly polished chrome finish reflects Pearl's commitment to visual elegance—this is an instrument worthy of center stage at Overture Center or your university recital hall. At 5.5" depth, this snare balances the resonance needed for orchestral rolls with the definition required for intricate rudimental passages.
