Rent Musical Instruments with Confidence
A partner in music education since 1948, Heid Music makes it simple for students and families to rent musical instruments for school band, orchestra, and private lessons.
How Instrument Rental Works
Step 1 — Select Your School
Renting an instrument with Heid Music is straightforward and flexible. First, let us know if you are renting for a specific school program or for an adult/home school/other instance. This helps us make sure to connect you with the correct recommendations from your school's educator.
Renting for an adult or home-school student? Search for Adult or Home. If your school does not appear in the results, type Not Listed and select My School Is Not Listed.
Step 2 — Choose Your Instrument
Next, select the instrument you would like to rent. We offer an extensive selection of brass, woodwind, orchestral, and percussion instruments from premium brands.
Band Instruments
Flute • Clarinet • Saxophone • Oboe • Bassoon • Trumpet • French Horn • Trombone • Euphonium • Tuba • Percussion
Heid Music will accommodate request for school-preferred brands based on available inventory
Orchestra Instruments
Violin • Viola • Cello • Bass

Step 3 — Choose Your Rental Plan
Next, select the plan that best fits your needs. All rentals are offered on a monthly basis and include options for coverage against accidental damages and normal wear. With our Rent-to-Own plan, monthly payments apply toward the purchase, and regardless of which plan you choose, pricing is guaranteed for as long as you continue renting.
Step 4 — Select Your Accessories
Make sure you have everything they need to start playing with confidence. Many instruments require basic care items and accessories that help protect the instrument and support proper technique. Our team can help recommend the right accessories based on your instrument and school program.

Step 5 — Select Fulfillment
We offer a variety of fulfillment options for your rental instrument and accessories, including delivery directly to your school!
You can select School Delivery or in-store pickup at one of our locations in Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, Madison, or Stevens Point.
