Martin Road Series 000-13E Acoustic Guitar - Retro Walnut

The Martin 000-13E Retro Walnut proves that tradition isn't always found in the expected places. Black walnut—dubbed "Pennsylvania rosewood" by old-time luthiers—delivers warmth, tonal complexity, and rich midrange sustain that rivals rosewood and mahogany, with a character entirely its own. Paired with a solid spruce top in gloss finish and scalloped X-bracing, this 000 produces articulate, balanced tone across all six strings. Whether you're a fingerstylist exploring intricate arrangements, a singer-songwriter seeking recording-ready clarity, or a Wisconsin roots musician who values regional heritage, the 000-13E offers substance beyond the specs sheet.

Martin's 000 body shape (also called "auditorium") balances intimacy and projection—comfortable for extended playing sessions while delivering enough volume for ensemble work and small venue performance. The proportions favor note-to-note clarity over pure volume, making this an ideal choice for fingerpickers, country blues players, and anyone who needs their individual notes heard rather than just felt. Scalloped X-bracing enhances responsiveness and dynamic range without sacrificing structural integrity.

The Performing Artist neck profile with high-performance taper provides smooth, fast action from open position through upper frets. Style 28-inspired appointments—including herringbone-style purfling and vintage aesthetic details—honor Martin's golden era while meeting contemporary expectations. Fishman E1 electronics with built-in tuner ensure stage-ready amplified tone. Gloss finish protects the tonewood while allowing it to resonate freely.
