CodaBow has spent decades proving that carbon fiber belongs in serious musicians' hands. Founded in Winona, Minnesota, the brand built its reputation by engineering bows that match and in many cases outperform traditional wood options on consistency, durability, and playability. Whether you're a student picking up your first quality bow or a professional looking for a reliable workhorse that can handle any stage or climate, CodaBow makes something for you. Heid Music is proud to carry the full CodaBow lineup, available in our Wisconsin locations and online.

Why Carbon Fiber?

For generations, the best bows were made from Pernambuco, a dense Brazilian hardwood prized for its flexibility and tonal responsiveness. The problem is that Pernambuco is increasingly rare and expensive, and even the finest wood bows are vulnerable to humidity, temperature swings, and the kind of daily wear that comes with serious playing. Carbon fiber solves those problems without sacrificing performance. CodaBow bows are constructed with aerospace-grade carbon fiber that delivers consistent flex, reliable weight distribution, and a playing feel that holds up whether you're in a rehearsal studio, on an outdoor stage, or traveling between performances. They don't warp, they don't crack, and they don't require the same careful climate management that wood bows demand.

The CodaBow Lineup: Finding the Right Bow for Your Level

Heid Music carries CodaBow bows across three performance levels, making it easy to find the right fit regardless of where you are in your playing journey.

The Student Level is designed for beginners and younger players who need a durable, dependable bow that won't hold back their development. These bows offer real playability at an accessible price point, making them a significant step up from what typically ships with a rental instrument.

The Performance Level is where many intermediate and advancing players find their home. Models like the Diamond SX offer a more focused, brighter tone with a balance point engineered for a livelier response. If you're moving beyond beginner repertoire and starting to work on tone production and bow technique in earnest, this is the tier worth exploring.

The Master Level represents CodaBow's most refined work. The Marquise series sits at the top of the lineup and comes in three distinct models, each voiced for a different kind of player. The Heritage delivers rich warmth and a traditional feel that sits comfortably alongside fine wood bows. The Aero is built for agility, offering crisp articulation and vibrant tone for players who favor a more contemporary style. The Tuxedo draws from Art Deco aesthetics and pairs modern design with a refined, balanced tonal palette suited to expressive, detail-oriented playing.
