GREAT DEAL ON A STUDIO DEMO

The Yamaha Clavinova is the preferred choice of our own Heid Music experts for teaching. The moment you play your first notes, you will understand why. The CLP-545 offers many impressive features, including samples of two impressive grand pianos, authentic hammer action with wooden keys, rhythms, and digital technologies to enhance your creative experience. Everyone from the most discerning professional pianists to beginning students will appreciate the realistic touch and beautiful tone of a genuine Yamaha Clavinova.

The Clavinova Sound
Besides featuring an impressive library of sounds, including a variety of electric pianos and organs, CLP-545 features expertly sampled sounds from two world class pianos: the Yamaha CFX 9' Concert Grand and the legendary Bösendorfer Imperial. From light staccato and powerful strikes, to the "key-off" sound when a pianist's fingers lift from the keys, the essence of these pianos has been captured in world-class sound studios.

Yamaha CFX
The nine-foot CFX is a full sized concert grand piano characterized by a wide palette of tonal colors and the ability to create the subtlest expressive nuances. The CFX was one of the Yamaha's most ambitious projects and greatest achievements, and no expense was spared to confirm that what you hear in the CLP lives up to the reputation of the original.

Bösendorfer Imperial
Bösendorfer has been perfecting the craft of piano creation for over 185 years. The legendary 97-key Imperial Grand has been serving artists from Franz Liszt to Tori Amos since 1909, offering the largest soundboard of all concert grands and a characteristic warm tone known as the "Viennese Sound." From dramatic presence and power to tender passion, every subtlety of this $300,000 masterpiece is at your fingertips with Clavinova.

The body resonance of a piano is every bit as important as the strike of the hammer on the string. Clavinova offers a powerful stereo speaker system that directs the sound through its body, allowing the wood to resonate just as if the strings were vibrating from within. Tone escape ports allow the sound to release from the body, recreating how sound will spread from a grand piano. Yamaha’s proprietary Acoustic Optimizers regulate the flow of sound, delivering a natural, smooth sound across the entire instrument.

2-Way Speaker System
The CLP-545 also features a 2-way speaker system, which creates a more powerful sound with greater separation between frequency ranges. The speakers face different directions, allowing for a sound field with much more depth than a typical system can provide.

From advanced construction methods to samples of legendary pianos, Yamaha's acoustic and digital piano experience combine to offer an incredible sound that is unique to Clavinova. The recorded tones and physical construction come together to offer an organic experience like no other digital instrument.

The Clavinova Touch
When considering the experience of playing an acoustic piano, the touch is every bit as important as the sound. Yamaha's experience creating acoustic and digital pianos alike comes together in Clavinova to offer a remarkably realistic feel.

Authentic Hammer Action
The mechanism in Clavinova accurately recreates the hammer action of their award-winning acoustic pianos. Just as with an upright or grand, the keys are weighted heavier in the lower registers and gradually become lighter as you work your way up the keybed.

Escapement
The escapement mechanism in a grand piano moves the hammers away from the strings quickly after they strike them, in order to prevent any interference with string vibration. This is something you can often feel in a grand piano, especially during light playing. Even this modest detail is not lost in Clavinova, as Yamaha's Escapement feature recreates the feel of the let-off and hammer drop on a grand piano when a key is played very softly.

Synthetic Ivory keytops
Recreating the experience of playing a world-class grand piano wouldn't be complete without offering keys that feel remarkably like Ivory. Synthetic Ivory keytops feature a highly absorbent material that prevents fingers from slipping, while retaining the ideal tactile texture to reproduce the sensation of playing on the Ivory keyboards used on classic acoustic pianos.

Natural Wood X (NWX) Keyboard
What better way to offer an acoustic piano feel, than to give CLP-545 wooden keys? For more than a century, Yamaha has been crafting some of the finest pianos in the world, and the NWX keyboard benefits from that experience. Each key is born from wood that has been selected and dried specifically for making instruments, and crafted with the same mastery used in Yamaha’s grand pianos.

The Digital Advantage
While every effort has been made to offer an acoustic piano experience, saving money on piano tuning is hardly the greatest advantage to owning a digital piano. Yamaha offers state-of-the-art technologies in Clavinova digital pianos, allowing you a greater opportunity to explore your creativity. All functions are easily accessible through the intuitive, yet unobtrusive control panel, with easy-to-read LCD screen.

Rhythms
Practicing your timing with a metronome is effective, but the rhythms can achieve the same goal while shaking up your practice regimen. Pick any of the 20 high-quality rhythms, including various jazz, pop and Latin patterns, to add a new dimension to your performances and enhance your timing.

Dynamic Ambience and Spatial Reverb Effects
Give your room an audio makeover by applying depth and atmosphere to the sound of your digital piano. Reverb effects can simulate characteristics of an acoustic space like a concert hall, cathedral, club or studio.

Stereophonic Optimizer
Sometimes you want to keep your playing to yourself, but headphones can make some instruments sound stale. Yamaha’s proprietary Stereophonic Optimizer augments the audio of the CLP-545 to create a virtual soundscape, allowing for a more natural and ambient experience while using headphones.

Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC)
Certain audio frequencies can stand out or fade away, depending on the volume at which you are playing. Clavinova's Intelligent Acoustic Control automatically adjusts the sound so that bass and treble will remain balanced, even at low volumes.

Multi-Track Song Recording
Recording and listening to your practice performances can be an invaluable tool for players of all levels to grow as musicians, but Clavinova can do so much more than single touch recording. Clavinova features 16 tracks of midi recording and playback, allowing you to create grand compositions with multiple layers and sounds for an enriched creative experience.

USB Audio Recorder
Compositions can also be recorded to a USB flash drive as a WAV audio file. Use the flash drive to load your songs into your Mac or PC for further editing. You can then share your work on social media, streaming services, or even burn an audio CD.

Apps and Connectivity
Yamaha offers a variety of music apps allowing deeper control of your instrument and furthering your musical education. Clavinova can access your devices through your wireless network with the Yamaha UD-WL01 Wi-Fi adapter (sold separately).
