Starting Thursday, August 19, 2021, Dane County has implemented a mask mandate indoors requiring everyone over the age of two to wear a mask in any enclosed building when they are with people not from their own household or living unit. The order is set to expire September 16, 2021. This mandate is for all individuals regardless of vaccination status.  

Heid Music-Madison will be following Dane County’s mandate for our Madison store location.  All Madison employees and customers are expected to comply with the new mandate.

At Heid Music, we will be continuing our cleaning and sanitization protocols, asking everyone to please sanitize prior to playing instruments and having our team do extra cleaning protocols in our traffic areas and of all instruments.   

As of June 1, 2021, Heid Music will no longer require fully vaccinated employees to wear a mask or remain 6 feet apart from others while working. We will assume that customers not wearing a mask are also fully vaccinated.  Heid Music will continue to offer masks for any customers that desire to have them on while shopping, playing … 

We also ask our employees to wear a mask for any customer who would prefer us to do so.

Effective Monday, May 17, band repairs will have a 24 hour hold before the instrument is sanitized and repairs can begin. Orchestra and guitar repairs will no longer have a hold time, but the instrument will be sanitized before repair work can begin.

Heid Music employees are required to wear masks, and we kindly encourage customers to also wear a mask. 

Masks and sanitization stations are available throughout the store. Please sanitize prior to playing instruments and work with team members to assist us in proper instrument sanitization protocols. 

We continue to also provide curbside pickup and virtual appointment options if you prefer.

The Wisconsin Statewide Mask Order remains in effect. To make your in-store shopping experience as safe as possible, we continue to follow diligent cleaning policies. If a customer plays or handles any instrument, we will clean it and place a tag on that instrument with the date, letting future customers know. Please see a music enthusiast for more details.

Effective 8/1/2020, masks will be required for all customers and employees to wear in all Heid Music locations in accordance with the Wisconsin Statewide Mask Order. 

Please note, exceptions will be made if any of the state restrictions are met.

We're open! Heid Music is happy to welcome customers back in our building while following all safe shopping practices outlined below. We will still be offering curbside pick-up to all interested customers. Please call the store if you would like to set up a private appointment. Store and curbside hours can be seen below.

Safe Shopping Practices:

• All Heid Music employees will wear a mask while customers are in the building
• Customers are highly encouraged to wear masks; it is not required, but strongly encouraged 
• Customers will be required to wash hands/sanitize prior to any instrument testing, and will be asked to wash hands/sanitize upon entering the store
• We may need to limit the number of customers in-store based on respecting social distancing guidelines
• All door handles & bathrooms will be regularly cleaned by Heid Music team
• We ask staff and guests to respect social distancing guidelines remaining a minimum of 6 feet apart
• We will be placing a limit on the number of instruments an individual can test, and all band instruments may only be tested while using a personally owned mouthpiece
• We are still offering repair services, however, any instruments dropped off for repair will be placed on a 3-5 day hold before the repairs can begin
  • Stringed instruments will be held for 3 days
  • Band instruments will be held for 5 days

Curbside Service is available at all 5 of our store locations.

When you arrive, please stay comfy in your car. Call or text us with your name, order number and make/model and color of your vehicle. Then simply pop your trunk and we will place your order in your car.
