Lydia H., Piano - Offering In-Person Instruction
Lydia has been teaching since 2012 and holds a Bachelor’s of Music in piano performance and pedagogy from Silver Lake College. She strives to make a difference in the lives of her students by connecting with each one and helping them develop as musicians and individuals. She is passionate about her students becoming independent and well-rounded musicians who can read music efficiently, play with effortless technique, express themselves musically and explore creative facets at the piano. Her goal is to help students discover the joy of music whether competitively or as a hobby and she provides the skills to help get them there. Lydia is also involved with the Wisconsin Music Teachers’ Association and her students regularly place in district events as well as advancing on to State Badger Auditions.
Josh K., Piano - Offering In-Person Instruction
Josh is a music graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and has over ten years of experience in the Fox Valley teaching private and group lessons, as well as directing bands and ensembles. He focuses his lessons on building a solid foundation of the basics and proper technique to help students become successful with music and enjoy their instrument. His unique style of teaching incorporates music theory and improvisation in a way that's fresh, accessible, and fun for students of all skill levels. Josh aims to turn students into lifelong musicians and lovers of music. With the right knowledge, students can develop their skills into a hobby or career in which they can be confident and competent, rather than leaving with just a vague memory of how to play one song!
Luke S., Piano - Offering In-Person Instruction
Raised in Appleton, WI, Luke is a professional opera singer and voice teacher. He completed his Bachelor’s degree of Music at Belmont University, and his Masters degree of Music at Florida State University. At FSU, Luke had top academic honors, and engaged in supplementary private study of Vocal Pedagogy and Kinesiology beyond his graduate degree requirements. Luke is a tenor, and has frequently won awards from organizations such as NATS and the Metropolitan Opera Grand Council. Before returning to the Fox Valley, he enjoyed a professional artist’s residency with the Florentine Opera Company and currently enjoys honing his edge with periodic auditions and professional opportunities around the nation. As a voice and piano teacher, Luke’s focus is always on a holistic music education that not only incorporates technical excellence, but also artistic fulfillment. He teaches and enjoys many genres of voice, including classical, metal, musical theater, and pop music.
Sarah T., Piano - Offering In-Person Instruction
Sarah has been teaching piano since 2018 and has been accompanying since 2012. She has a minor in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and is working towards becoming a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. In lessons, she specializes in teaching musical fundamentals to young children and beginners in a style that keeps them engaged, helping them to build confidence in both their music skills and in their lives outside the studio. She strongly believes that a good teacher-student relationship is the foundation for a successful learning experience and strives to treat her students as both learners and whole people. Her ultimate goal is to guide students towards becoming independent musicians who have the skills to understand music from many different genres by composers from Bach to Auerbach.
