Generally these fantastic 3/4 sized guitars are found in rough shape. On the contrary for the Gibson 3/4 Melody Maker; it has been well taken care of.
Solid, straight mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are in great condition offering awesome action as well as playability. Both fingerboard and frets show little wear, however the frets do have minor wear through first four frets. The neck profile is a little thinker; standard for a '59. The headstock does have a few nicks and scuffs out of the finish, but is overall in great shape.
While the mahogany body is in overall great shape, the front exhibits moderate checking throughout while the back shows none. One ship is out of the finish on the lower bass side bout. Backside shows moderate buckle rash with a tiny chip out of the finish on the lower bass side bout.
Pickup and all electronics (master volume, tone) are tested and work great.
Speed knobs are unoriginal and both strap pins look to be unoriginal as well. Open back strip tuners work well, keeping the guitar in tune. Light pitting on nickel and chrome hardware.
Original faux gator chipboard case is included in sale. The case is worn throughout with small parts rips or torn off. Still carries the guitar well. All hinges and latches work great. The interior pocket lid is torn off.
