A classic look with superb classic tone. What is there not to like about this awesome bass? From the vibe'n weather checking to the hollow body nature of the instrument. This has some great tone.
Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard is straight and true while showing many years of play wear on the backside of the neck. Both frets and fingerboard show minor wear. There is no buzzing or fretting. Great action and smooth playability.
Semi hollow body guitar shows weather checking throughout top, back and sides. Buckle rash on backside has some nitro finish chipping down to the stain finish. Overall for the age of this instrument and how it was played; it is in great shape.
Both neck and under bridge pickup and all electronics are original (with exception to the unoriginal replaced switch), tested, and 100% functional. While the neck pickup can be a little underwhelming, the under bridge pickup makes up for it big time. Adding in the under bridge pickup expands the sound of this bass with deep lows and clear highs. Pots date to 1966.
All hardware is in great working shape. Bridge cover and hand rest string cover are both missing. Pick guard is in great shape with minimal warping and no chipping.
This is more than likely the original yellow interior hardcase. Case has seen better days. Duct tape is holding on the bottom side.
