BUILD A BETTER UKE
Sustainable, solid-topped Breedlove ECO Collection Lu’au S Series myrtlewood ukuleles feature a resonant core tonewood layer of clear-cut free, individually harvested African mahogany in place of typical tonerobbing softwoods for back and sides. Sharing a Pacific Ocean coastline with Hawaiian koa, native Oregon myrtle has a similar bright ping, but borrows some of mahogany’s depth and warmth for a unique, powerful ukulele presence. Rich and responsive, this full-shouldered acoustic electric Breedlove Lu’au S Tenor uke, with a glamorous Natural Shadow finish, tucks right underneath the arm and sings along to any style.

SUSTAINABLE
Made from sustainably-sourced exotic and native tonewoods. No clear-cut trees are used in these instruments. Breedlove uses salvaged and individually harvested timber and has deep relationships with responsible suppliers around the globe. As Breedlove moves towards sustainability across all lines, owner Tom Bedell has visited 15 countries to discover exactly where the wood comes from, how it is selected and harvested, and how this affects the wildlife, the community, the forest and the planet.
TENOR BODY SHAPE
Favored by masters like Jake Shimabukuro and Brittni Paiva, the tenor ukulele keeps the ringing reentrant GCEA tuning of other small ukuleles while affording a guitarist-friendly 17” scale with plenty of room for flashy licks up the neck. The Breedlove Lu’au tenor—with 20 frets, a wave headstock and striking myrtlewood figure—has a richer, throatier tone thanks to a spacious body and improved bracing pattern, and it serves as a full-sounding gateway to the exciting, deeply musical world of quality ukuleles.
MYRTLEWOOD
Popularized by Breedlove, myrtlewood, from the windblown Oregon coast, combines the best elements of rosewood, mahogany and maple—rich bass, warm midrange and clear, bright trebles—for truly versatile guitars. Each sonically distinct instrument is individualized by the gnarled, wildly varied, but always arresting grain patterns.
ECOTONEWOOD BACK & SIDES
With EcoTonewood, Breedlove makes laminate technology sustainable, introducing a resonant core tonewood layer of clear-cut free, individually harvested African mahogany in place of the typical tone-robbing softwoods used in standard acoustic guitar manufacture. Coupled with Breedlove’s deep research into revolutionary body shapes; building to target tonewood weight adds to the optimized, natural sound of each guitar in the ECO Collection. And, Breedlove creates these better sounding laminate guitars while being kind to the earth while maintaining an accessible, entry-level price-point.
