Noah Harmon has been immersed in music his entire life. As a child, he performed in many different capacities including the Appleton Boy Choir, the World Old Time piano playing competition (where he received first prize), as well as various local rock and jazz bands. As a young adult, he enrolled in Lawrence University and graduated with a degree in piano performance. Since then, he’s been performing in venues across the Fox Valley and can boast 7 years teaching at Heid Music. When he teaches, he makes sure his students understand how to read music – so they can appreciate and perform greats ranging from Bach to Billy Joel.

Zach Harmon was born into a musical family in Wisconsin. He began studying classical piano at the age of four and continued for twelve years. After many years of outstanding musical performance in youth programs, Zach enrolled in the Thornton School of Music at USC where he studied with the great Terri Lyne Carrington for two years. After his sophomore year, he transferred to the Masters program at the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz where he studied under the tutelage of many of the great masters of Jazz. Zach has been studying tabla with Abhiman Kaushal for several years and recorded tabla on Terence Blanchard’s *A Tale of God’s Will* for Blue Note Records; he is now a Grammy award-winner for contributing to this album dedicated to the events of Hurricane Katrina.

John Harmon is one of Wisconsin’s most beloved music icons and an active, free-lance composer of orchestral, wind ensemble, chamber, choral, and jazz music. He has taught evolution of jazz, composition, arranging, music appreciation and improvisation at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and at Lawrence University, Appleton, WI. A native of Oshkosh and a graduate of Lawrence University, he studied with Belgian composer, Henri Pousseur, at the State University of New York in Buffalo and was a private student of world-renowned jazz pianist, Oscar Peterson. His more than 160 published compositions for chorus, band, brass chamber groups and jazz ensemble are available from six different publishers. He has also earned prestigious recognition: the Jazziz award (1998), the Renaissance Award (Lawrence University, 1999), the Distinguished Service Award from WSMA (Wisconsin State Music Association) and Wisconsin Artist Fellowship (both 2001), an honorary doctorate degree from Lawrence University and the Wisconsin Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters Fellowship (both 2005), and in 2006, the Distinguished Service Award from IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators).
