Presumed history on this beautiful acoustic is that during the first owners time this was sent back to the Gibson factory to have a warranty work done and a Gibson truss rod installed. Out of the Dave Rogers collection and purchase by the previous owner who lives and played this guitar in the Fox Valley for the past 20 years.

The straight and true mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard plays effortlessly throughout. Extremely playable, both frets and fingerboard show light-medium play wear. Fingerboard was refretted some time ago. 2nd string fret wear goes through 5th fret. As stated in the summary this is a two owner guitar and originally it was produced without a truss rod. Shortly after the original owner took this guitar back to Gibson for warranty work and a truss rod was installed. After the installation of the truss rod the neck was re-profiled to a late 40's early 50's style, binding was installed, and then over sprayed. The headstock has various nicks and dings throughout edges while both Gibson and Banner screen print logo are in great shape. Finish checking is apparent throughout neck and headstock under overspray.

Overall this neck is set for superior playability.

Mahogany back and sides shows consistant checking throughout and there is light to moderate buckle rash throughout backside. There is an apparent seam between both back and binding from slight shrinkage, but there is no separation between the two. The spruce top shows moderate pick wear above and below the neck and sound hole. There is a crack above the pick guard that shows signs of shrinkage. A finish crack has developed behind the bridge.

Overall this Gibson Banner Southern Jumbo is in great condition for its age.

Bridge saddle and pins have been replaced as well as Kluson Deluxe tuning machines. Kluson Deluxe machines are 1960's era and work great. Truss rod is in great working condition

Modern Gibson hard case is included in sale. The case is in great working order and condition.
