Music in our Schools Month Big Ten Giveaway
Enter your school to win one of ten great prizes to benefit your school’s music program
Appleton, Wis., (March 5, 2014) – For the third year, students and educators who believe in the benefits of music in our schools now have the opportunity to earn their school one of ten great prizes through the Big 10 Giveaway from Heid Music Company and supporting partners (see below).
“In honor of Music in Our Schools month, which runs nationally the entire month of March, we really wanted to do something that would recognize local school music programs,” says Dave Hoelzel, school accounts manager for Heid Music. “It’s really a grass-roots effort that focuses on the students by getting them to participate in the giveaway through nominating and voting for their school.”
To participate, students and educators need to submit a photo that represents their school music program and upload it on the giveaway’s entry form page at facebook.com/heidmusic. The school with the most votes accumulated at 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2014 will be the grand prize winner and have first choice of one of the ten prizes. The second place school will have second choice, and so on in that manner until all prizes are claimed. Ten schools will win!

Vote for the Sheboygan North Orchestras!!” To see more entries, current and past, visit heidmusic.com/about/big-10.
Studies show music students tend to get better grades and higher test scores than their peers, participation in music education boosts students’ social lives and improves teamwork skills, and music enhances the process of learning. Opportunities such as that described by Sara help enhance the experience of school music students and rally more participation.
“Heid Music really believes in the value of music education and music in our schools,” says Hoelzel. “It’s important to keep these programs going strong and The Big 10 Giveaway is our way of helping them do that.”
And the company hasn’t stopped there. Heid Music has also created a donation program to further celebrate and support school music education. At any Heid location, guests are invited to donate to the school music program of their choice. All donation slips are proudly displayed with each donor’s name and chosen school. Heid will match every donation dollar-for-dollar with in-store credit to that school’s account. The more the community donates, the more Heid Music will donate!
