Katie DeNure is a classically trained vocalist that teaches guitar and voice in a wide range of styles.  She is also a singer/songwriter. Since 2002, Katie has had the privilege to lead music for hundreds of Youth Conferences, Women's Retreats, Young Adult Gatherings, Special Events, and Church Services.  Katie has been teaching private music lessons for since 2008, and has also worked with the Renaissance School for the Arts and other area schools in the Fox Valley.   Katie’s unique use of technology in her studio provides her students more ways to advance and retain their skills with her wide variety of professionally filmed online lessons.  Other instruments Katie plays include the flute, Irish Penny Whistles and piano. Katie teaches acoustic, as well as electric styles, and accepts students 8 years old and up. Katie also specializes in group guitar and voice lessons.  In addition to her musical abilities, Katie is also a fluent Spanish speaker and is a certified teacher in Bilingual/ELL and Regular Education.  For more information, visit her website at

Chris Felts has played the saxophone since 1995, and has privately taught saxophone since 2003. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he received several awards in music and music performance. An avid musician, he performs on soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones in a wide range of musical styles such as classical, concert, jazz, pop, Latin, and funk. He performs with a variety of different bands and ensembles including Men In Suits, Fat Brass Inc, and the Big Band Reunion. Chris’s lessons cover the full range of saxophone, from the fundamentals (proper embouchure, tone, hand position, dynamics, counting rhythms) to more advanced techniques (vibrato, altissimo, improvisation, growling, false/alternate fingerings, etc) and saxophone history. Chris teaches students of all skill levels from beginner to advanced, and enjoys tailoring his teaching to fit each student’s educational and performing goals.

A fourth generation musician, Robyn began her formal music education at age six with private guitar lessons; later adding voice, flute and piano to her repertoire of instruments.  Her educational experience includes classical vocal performance and vocal jazz study at Lawrence University and UW Oshkosh, as well as music marketing and songwriting at Berklee College of Music.

Robyn believes private study should be tailored to the student’s interests.  She uses all forms of music notation, including notes, guitar tablature and chord grids.  Her lessons regularly incorporate sight reading/singing, theory, improvisation, and developing repertoire.  In addition to private instruction, Robyn also teaches group classes and performance clinics.  

Coupled with her interest in a myriad of contemporary performance styles, Robyn shares her experience and knowledge of the music industry with her students.  She divides her time between private music education, live performance, session singing, and entertainment promotions.

Dr. Theresa Martin has been teaching beginning to advanced-level piano, clarinet, and composition lessons at Heid Music since 2009. She also teaches adjunct clarinet at Lawrence University and UW Fox Valley and offers group composition seminars throughout the year.  She teaches repertoire of various styles from classical to popular, and she promotes essential musicianship skills including note-reading, scales, theory, ear-training, and sight-reading.  In her spare time she performs as a clarinetist in the Waupaca Area Orchestra, Fox Valley Concert Band, and Vento Winds, volunteers as a pianist at her church, and composes music for people all over the world.  She holds a Doctorate in music composition from the University of Michigan, Masters degrees in composition and clarinet performance from Arizona State University, and a Bachelors in composition and performance from UW-Milwaukee.
