Dr. Steve Asma began playing at the age of 6 and has been playing ever since. Steve received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1984. He is currently a Family Practitioner at Prevea Clinic.
Dr.Yoon Chun began playing piano at the age of 5. She has won many piano competitions and received acceptance to Juilliard School of Music. Taking a break from her musical studies she earned her medical degree and is now a practicing OB/GYN.
Dr. Peter Fisher started his musical studies with the viola at the age of 8. At age 9 he started playing the sax. He also played bass guitar in several "garage" bands. Dr. Fischer is now a psychiatrist at Theda Clark medical center in Neenah.
Dr. James Gapinski began studying violin at the age of 6 with Patricia Anders. He also plays a number of other string instruments. He is a full-time sleep medicine physician and Medical Director at Aurora BayCare Medical Center as well as the Aurora Manitowoc County Medical Center.
Dr. Franz Igler was forced to play violin at an early age and studied piano in high school. In the 60s he played guitar and sang in a "garage" band. He redeveloped an interest in classical piano while his three children were taking lessons. He completed his Anesthesiology residency in 1983 with a special interest in Pain Medicine and Cardiac Anesthesiology.
Dr. Pat Kiefer resumed his interest in playing the trumpet after a 33 year hiatus. He attended Creighton University where he completed his medical degree and surgical residency. He is now the Trauma Medical Director at St.Vincent Hospital.
Dr. Lee Klemens began his musical studies on piano and violin in second grade. He added guitar and in high school he played bass in rock bands and toured while in college. In the 80s he played the upright bass in a dixieland band. He joined Bellin Health in 1997, serving as Medical Director for Patient Rehabilitation.
Dr. Kelly Lynch has been involved in vocal music since the age of four. She performed in high school musicals and participated in the Michigan State Honors choir. Dr Lynch is a board certified medical oncologist who takes a global approach to patients diagnosed with cancer and blood related disorders.
Dr. Genadi Maltinski comes from both a medical and musical family. He enjoys performing German Lieder and Italian arias and songs. He practices family medicine in affiliation with Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.
Dr. Tal Minuskin is Board Certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics and practices at Door County Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Nathan Munson at the age four, Nathan asked his mother to teach him to play the piano after seeing how much fun her students had during their weekly lesson. It was the beginning of his musical journey. He is a board certified in Radiation Oncology and practices with the Bellin Cancer Team and ThedaCare. He encourages his patients to use music as a supplemental therapy.
Dr. Nicky Plementosh began singing with her sister at a very young age in her father's church and on his radio program. She worked as an engineer at NASA on Hubble Space Telescope and Space Station. She attended Alabama Medical School and is now in private practice at Woman's Healthcare OB/GYN. She has five children.
Dr. Mark Ringwelski expressed his love for music by playing piano, cornet and baritone. In high school and college he developed an interest in vocal performances and that interest continues today. Mark is the Medical Director for Occupational Medicine at Bellin Health Systems.
Kim Shefchik's background in music started at the age of five with piano lessons, which grew into a love for piano, vocal and instrumental music. Kim is very active in Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants as the Public Relations Chair and was honored as "PA of the Year."
Dr. Peter Sherrill has been playing guitar since 1964. He enjoys dabbling in computer generated composing and arranging and working with his wife to fix up their old farmhouse. He also flies aircraft with the Civil Air Patrol. Peter practices in Occupational Health at Aurora Medical Center.
Dr. Ralph Vardis love of vocal jazz and the "Great American Songbook" motivated him to take up the guitar 10 years ago. He regularly performs in northeast Wisconsin, and in the process of completing his first CD of original tunes. Ralph
is a Pediatric Intensive Care Physician at St. Vincent Hospital. He treats infants and children with life threatening medical and surgical emergencies.
Dr. Bob Wampler came to Green Bay in 1977 as an Internist with the Beaumont Clinic and is currently at Prevea doing geriatric medicine. "I have been a lifelong music lover but for the most part haven't played since college. Now that I am mostly retired, I couldn't find an excuse not to try it again in the Big Band."
Dr. George Whetmore began taking music lessons at the age of eight. He went on to complete a music minor during his undergraduate training at Southern College in Collegedale, TN. He continues his passion for music by spending a great deal of time on musical arranging and performing. George is currently a pediatrician with Prevea Clinic.
Lucinda Roberts majored in Jazz piano at North Park University in Chicago, and received a Masters in Music Business from William Steinway University. She is a Steinway Piano Specialist at Heid Music in Green Bay and is Executive Director for the 2010 Doctors in Recital event.
Steve Seitz has been a professional musician for over 30 years, touring nationally and abroad. His professional studies were with some of the country's most gifted drummers and percussionists including Gene Jackson, Ryan Korb, Graham Lear, Tony Rongo and Casey Scheurell. His teaching practice, Drumisitck Studio, which he started in 2002, brings in hundreds of students each year.
Dr. Steve & Katie Schmidt Steve is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon at BayCare Clinic Plastic Surgery.
Katie is currently the President of Brown County Medical Alliance.
