COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
The First Steps in Music series is an attempt to preserve the rich repertoire of traditional and folk literature, to enable families to recall and learn songs and rhymes that have nurtured wonder and joy in young people for generations. The authentic affection, innocence and wonder of these songs and rhymes have the potential to plant the seeds for sensitivity and imagination. |

 Music in My First Year (6 – 12 months)
Delight and stimulate your child’s curiosity about music. You will enjoy singing, dancing, bouncing and rocking with your child while nurturing their natural aptitude for music.
8 Session Parent/Child Classes

 Now I’m One (12 – 24 months)
Experience the joy of music and movement with your toddler in this hands-on activity class. Singing, dancing, age appropriate focused listening and instrument playing create an environment which fosters your child’s musical ability.
8 Session Parent/Child Classes

 Now I’m Two (24 – 36 months)
Cultivate the growing independence of your child. Encourage your child’s music development through singing, chanting, rhymes, pattern echoing, instrument playing, sensory and movement games.

 Music for Kids (3 – 4 1/2 years)
Exposure to the keyboard and use of rhythm instruments expand your child’s horizons into the world of music. Expressive singing, movement, introduction to music notation, basic keyboard skills and rhythmic activities develop your child’s sense of rhythm and pitch. Materials are optional, but are recommended to help your child advance on their musical journey.
